IRGUK is always looking for ways to better engage with our audiences, we're moving away from our previous strategy of social media use.
IRGUK and its brands have utilised social media in the past to connect with our audiences through "mainstream" means. This primarily has been through the use of Facebook and Twitter.
After reviewing our social media strategy, we belive that using our own websites and domain spaces is the best way of engaging with our audiences. We know our listeners typically listen to our brands thorough our own websites, and so we're moving to an approach where our social media content will be part of our digital offerings within our own digital properties. In addition to this, we've seen increased issues where our content has been displayed next to questionable material, or material that we do not share a viewpoint with. By utilising a private space within our digital properties, we can ensure that all content is within line of our acceptable communications.
We are working on the technical plans for how we are going to acheive this new strategy and we may utilise Mastodon or BlueSky for publishing, however no finalised decision has been made yet. In the interim, news updates and features will be shared on irguk.co.uk and our brand websites.
